Resolve to Have a New Perspective on Dieting this New Year
As we move into a brand new year, it’s common to make resolutions about losing weight. New diet and exercise programs, new goals, and higher standards for our own behavior are all commonplace. And of course, here at Nuez de la India, we understand wanting to improve yourself and your life—after all, we encourage it! But we also want you to enter the new year happier as well as healthier. That’s why we’re supporting resolutions for new perspectives as well as new healthy habits.
No matter your weight, remember that you’re not dieting to punish yourself. Instead, if you’ve chosen to stick to a new diet for this new year, remember that you’re doing it because you love yourself already.
Too many people try to diet to turn themselves into someone who deserves love. You already deserve to be loved! You also deserve to be healthy and fit! Your diet should be an expression of how much you love yourself.
Be Comfortable in Your Skin (And Your Pants)
It’s tough, sometimes, to look in the mirror and realize we haven’t met our goals yet. And the post-holiday season can be especially rough. You’ve been firing on all cylinders physically, mentally, and emotionally, and you’ve been surrounded by temptation (and probably given in more than a little bit, if you’re anything like us).
Don’t beat yourself up for still having a way to go. Improving and loving ourselves is a lifelong journey! If you’ve put on a couple of pounds thanks to holiday treats, take a deep breath and relax. You’ll lose them again, and you will achieve your goal.
Don’t squeeze yourself into a pair of too-tight jeans or blouses that make you feel self conscious, especially not now. Be comfortable—being relaxed and comfy, and not causing yourself unnecessary anxiety will go a long way toward helping you meet your goals!
Care for Yourself
Being happier and healthier isn’t all about dieting—and dieting is also about caring for yourself. Read a book, take more bubble baths, and make sure you’re getting enough sleep. Engage in behaviors that help, like using our all-natural nuez de la India seeds.
Eat foods that are nutritionally rich and remember that your body deserves healthy, nutritious foods. (And those foods can taste just as good or better than junk food!)
Most of all, reflect on the fact that you can and will achieve your goals, and caring for yourself is an important part of doing so.
