Mid-Afternoon Bump in Energy
It’s 2 pm and you want another coffee. What do you do when you think that you’re going to take off running for the vending machine? Did you forget your snacks? It’s okay, don’t despair. There are lots of things that you can do to bring your energy levels up so you can stay on track and get home. When you take Nuez de la India, you should have a lot of energy but even if you’re having a bad day there is a lot that you can do to help yourself get some pep in your step. There are lots of little things that you can do if you’ve hit that mid-day slump; before you quit and run straight into the arms of junk food there are a few things to think about.
If you’re feeling like you’re dragging some serious booty here’s some stuff to consider. Have you had time to exercise today? No? Then make sure to take some time to give yourself the gift of exercise. Go for a long walk when you get home so that you’re doing something to help your body adjust to the day to day stress! If you’re feeling like you need a sugary snack or that you’re going to take a nap here’s some helpful hints to help you get through the day!
-Get away from your computer: It’s easier for you to get sleepy if you’ve been staring at the same screen for eight hours. Get up. Blink. Do something before you become one with your monitor. Do you use multiple monitors? You are doubling down on staring!
-STRETCH! It makes you feel good and it helps you take your mind off of the nap that you want to take. Plus, it’s always a good idea to give yourself a little break during the day.
-Drink some tea; green tea preferably. If you have another coffee consider decaf. Adding more caffeine to your system might cause an upset stomach or make you jittery. Green tea or even regular tea often times has less caffeine than coffee.
-Did you pack a snack? Eat your snack! Maybe you’re just hungry.
-Put on a podcast that wakes you up! When you put on audio that energizes you, your body wakes up. Think about it!
Doing all of these things will help you get to 5 pm or make it through a long shift; remember to take the time to exercise on the regular. It’s important that you stay active so that your body can be full of energy. When you take Nuez de la India you feel great but it’s okay if you’re tired. Work is hard but you’re working harder. Stay on track and you can do this! Health is easy when you do it the Nuez de la India way.
