Snack Attack! What to do when pizza calls (310)
Okay, it’s Friday night and you swear that you just heard pizza whisper something vulgar to you on the street or via an advertisement on television. In the event that you are being haunted by your favorite foods from the life pre-Nuez de la India what do you do? How do you deal when former favorite foods start calling to you. So what if those cookies want to Netflix n chill? You can’t chill with cookies! Here are a few tips on how to stay away from trigger foods and stay on track.
It’s ok to crave things especially since it’s perfectly normal to miss whatever was your go to in your life before Nuez de la India. Unfortunately, just like an ex, those foods come back. Just like the ex, don’t pick up the phone when they call. It’s okay to say that you don’t want to talk but rather, think about how wanting those foods will set you back. Yes, a cheat meal is one thing but running into the arms of a chicken mole burrito is quite another. Avoiding trigger food is easy if you have a pantry or refrigerator stocked full of awesome snack foods that you can go to.
Having sneak food in the house is dangerous. It’s often time easier not to have them in your house and remove any invitation in. Yes, Doritos are like vampires. They are no longer welcome even though they have slept on your couch. If you’re craving something snacky then take the time to think about what kind food you want and if you can substitute something similar. Perhaps you are stress eating. If that is the case take some time to think about what you are stressed out about. Just that easy!
Eating smart also means that it is okay to have smaller portions. It’s not cheating if you’re aware of what you’re doing and you’re not binging! It’s ok to eat pizza! Just don’t eat the whole pizza unless you know you want to. That might go against what was said about trigger foods not coming in the house but if you truly know that you want that piece of pizza and it is going to make you a better person for having eaten that slice of heaven then just have one. There is no need to eat the whole pizza. That is the difference between pre-Nuez e la India and now.
Now that you feel better about what to do when you’re having a snack attack, go and grab a cup of Nuez de la India tea and remember that it’s just food. You can ignore the creepy texts from food. Keep calm and Nuez de la India on!
