Water, Water, Water! (Part 2)
Nuez de la India tastes the best when you’re getting ready for bed. You do nothing but add water, right? A huge part of staying on track is keeping that extra water in your body. How much water do you drink per day? How much should you be drinking per day? Water, water, everywhere and all of it is you need to drink!
There are many theories about how much water you need to drink per day. Lots of people think that they are drinking enough water but are you really? If you ever have any doubts about what to do you should probably drink a glass of water and then think about it. That is solid life advice. In order for your brain to keep working correctly it’s imperative that you stay hydrated. If you are trying to lose weight, keeping your water intake up is a huge part. Trying to stay healthy? Drink a lot of water. Trying to gain muscle? You better be drinking at least a gallon of water while you are at the gym since you’ve probably sweat it all out. Here are a few rules for drinking water. Look at them like the Couch to 5k program; they’re here to help not hurt.
The 8×8 rule
Drink eight glasses of at least eight ounces of water a day, at minimum. This means that you’re drinking 64 liquid ounces per day and that is AWESOME! Keep it up. Remember, if you have a cup of Nuez at night that’s another 8 ounces!
The Oz per pound rule
Should you drink as much water as you weigh? It all depends. Drinking an ounce for every pound you weigh can be challenging but if you work out and are active then certainly staying well hydrated is up your alley.
Your weight x 67%
The last and most hardcore of the water drinking is drinking your weight times 2/3rds (or 67%). This means you’re drinking extra water to compensate for the exercise you take part in every day. If you work out you should drink more. It’s just that simple.
What on earth am I doing? I can’t stop going to the bathroom. These thoughts might be running through your mind but look at the long-term. You are getting healthy. You’re exactly where you need to be. You’re getting some extra steps on your FitBit or tracking device running to the bathroom. Have you been pooping more often?
