Okay, it’s Friday afternoon and you cannot wait to get out of the office. What do you have planned? A happy hour? Going to the movies? Sitting down with the family for a movie night? Check out this great article to get some tips on how to keep your Nuez de la India game on lock. Before you have a bad Monday morning because you went a little crazy this weekend take some time to plan ahead.
Are you going out to a happy hour? Have one drink and enjoy it. Avoid beverages that aren’t clear or are packed with SUGAR, BZZZZZZZ; totally dangerous both for you and for your healthy lifestyle. Packing your calories into your drinks at the end of day is fine, if that is what you want to do, but it’s not so good for your body. The less sugar the better.
Are you going out to eat with friends? Check out the menu ahead of time. See what you can eat and what you can splurge on. It’s okay – we all want to snarf down some fried calamari. See if you can split something super salty with your friends or if you can share a pizza with a friend. Just one friend because we are not insane over here at Nuez de la India headquarters, after all!
Going to a party? Have a snack ahead of time but think about what you can do to stay on track. Look at the food that is there and be mindful of what you want to eat and enjoy yourself. Are you close with the host? See if you can have them provide details about what they’re cooking. If it’s healthy food then you are safe. If it’s a lot of junk food take the time to assess the situation and make the best decision for you and your tummy. Its okay to eat nothing but carrots and Skittles but those Skittles may come back to haunt you in the middle of the night.
Get plenty of sleep. You wouldn’t think that this has anything to do with eating but if you’re exhausted and dehydrated you will spend the rest of the day trying to make yourself less hangry and less hungover. Nuez de la India wants you to sleep like a baby, not be a hungover baby.
