Weight Loss Supplements: The Importance of Authenticity
Supplementing your diet with vitamins, minerals, and holistic weight loss remedies like nuez de la India can be a great way to improve your health and kick your dieting success into high gear. It’s important, however, to be sure that the supplements you’re using are of high quality and authenticity.
Are All Supplements Authentic?
While there are many reputable companies like Nuez de la India that are committed to providing their customers with authentic supplements that really work, there are unfortunately those that are not. Just as every industry has great companies that care about their clients, every industry also has companies that are more interested in making a short term profit. The problem has run rampant especially amongst generic store brands of herbal supplements, which have been under increased scrutiny by government agencies.
While government oversight helps to identify fake supplements to protect consumers, that hasn’t stopped companies that are more interested in making a quick profit from taking advantage of customers.
Does that mean you should swear off supplements that can actually help you on your weight loss journey? Of course not! What it does mean, however, is that you should be choosy about where and who you purchase them from. And here at Nuez de la India, we’ve always been supportive of our customers being thoughtful and cautious about what they put in their bodies—we want the best for them!
That’s why we’ve put together a bit of advice to help you choose supplements safely and effectively.
How Do You Choose Authentic Supplements?
- Use visually identifiable supplements.
Of course, the absolute easiest way to know you’re getting what you’ve paid for is to purchase supplements you’re confident you can identify yourself. For example, if you’re using garlic oil tablets or capsaicin capsules, you can probably—with little room for doubt—tell that they contain what they claim to. The same can be said for using nuez de la India whole seeds.
- Look for information on the lab where the supplement was made.
But it’s not always possible (or convenient) to use supplements that are immediately identifiable. Many people prefer our supplement capsules, for example. How do we make sure they know they’re the real deal?
Any reputable supplement manufacturer or vendor will include information about the lab on the label. Look for US GMP-Certified Laboratories, which follow FDA guidelines, or USP, NSF Consumer Lab, or NSF International certification to be sure there’s sufficient oversight.
