What is in a nut?
Aleurites moluvanna: two words that spell check seems to hate, despite knowing that it means ‘Nuez de la India’. But, you may ask, what is in a nut? There are many different terms for aleurites moluvanna; Indian walnut, candlenut, both of which are abundant in Asia.
While ‘aleurites moluvanna’ is the Nuez de la India way of maintaining a healthy body and mind, the ‘Indian walnut’ is used in cooking all over Asia. In Indonesia and Malaysia the nut is used as a staple of many sauces to be served over rice and is sometimes substituted for a macadamia nut.
